September Food Bank Challenge - completed

The September challenge - the task has been to complete at least 8 of the clauses listed. 3. Inventory all the food in your cupboards. Make at least 3 meals from items which have been at the back of the cupboard for some time. I have inventoried quite a lot of the cupboards - but not quite all of them at the moment. I have listed what items are in the freezers as well (we have a fridge freezer in the kitchen, and an upright freezer in the garage. We have a little kitchen as part of our upstairs lounge (sink, cupboards, under counter fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave) , and the main kitchen is downstairs. Earlier in the year I did clean out the downstairs kitchen of lots of out of date packets, tins and jars - things that clearly could not be used. Three meals - yesterday we had aubergine, tomato and red lentil curry - using tinned tomatoes (which are always in the cupboard), and red split lentils. Earlier this year I bought two BIG bags of red lentils, as they were being sold che...

Diarist - completed

Task: over a period of 6 months, write a journal at least 4 times a week I started this back in March when I first got the book and had Covid. I started / continued on Journals I started previously. In the morning I use the Daily Prompt in the app, and this has been quite an interesting exercise - I learnt how to insert a .gif! I didn’t realise you could save them to files, and insert them into an app. In the evening I fill in a entry into a journal called ‘Things To Be Thankful For’ - finding at least 5 items each day - and sometimes more. I think I will continue both journals - the Thankfulness journal I was doing for the Mindfulness badge, but I haven’t really got any further with that, so I will start it again. I completed this badge about a week ago, but only just got round to writing about it now. Another badge I should be just about due is the Writer badge - for which I am using this blog, but I feel that I should have a few more entries, so will start to work a bit harder ...

Super Scavenger completed!

I can’t resist a scavenger hunt, I used to play Eventzee when they did the Weekend Warrior, and at Munzee events. I started fairly well, and managed to organise to meet up with another rebel at a geocaching event. I could have got a real chicken crossing a road, had I been a bit quicker off the mark while doing the Geocaching Mega Art puzzle series in Staffordshire, but managed to create something regardless. The home grown produce was quite easy, as our fig trees were prolific this year, and there really is nothing like the taste of fresh home grown figs. The most colourful item was quite easy given my extensive quilt and fabric collection - and I ended up choosing a colour chart for Moda Bella Solids, which lists 324 different colours that you can get in the Bella Solids range. One clue was tricky to get - and that was the word ‘Rebel’ - I saw a sign for Rebel Cinema on the way back from Tintagel, but the picture was rather blurry - luckily they accepted it, and I did do a scree...
