Life, the universe, everything - but mostly crafty stuff!

 I thought this would be one badge that I could do fairly easily back when I got my book in March 2022. In my childhood and teens I was an avid reader, and this continued into my 20s. Then I discovered satellite TV (thanks to my husband) and work took over, and after a glass or two of something in the evening, reading often got left out as I was too tired to read anything. I have a collection of books which I have not read read, and am trying to get through them. This mission is not made easier by others - as my aunt periodically send me packages of books - the last time I went to see her, she had a bag of 8 books waiting for me (her house is crammed full of books - and I mean really crammed full…piles of books going up the stairs, shelves bowing under the weight of books in every room).  For this badge the criteria is to regularly work on a writing project over a period of 6 months, and where appropriate finish a first draft. And ta-da - here it is! I consider that I have done enough to claim this badge as I have added to this blog for about 9 months now. I will continue to add to the blog to verify (to me) that I have completed the requirements for the badge. Interestingly, I discovered that this was one badge that I had not ordered!!

 The start of December saw Rebel Badge book volume 2 arrive. I will confess to feeling a little envious (and perhaps also a little out out) when I saw people posting all about their progress for the new badges, and I was waiting for my copy to arrive - I held out for the hardback edition, so had to wait longer. Anyway - so many lovely new badges to have a go at - including Geocacher (which I am certainly doing, as I am not Geocaching newbie - coming up to 10 years of membership). I was absolutely delighted to see some really interesting (and comparatively easy) badges in the Grown Up section - Sommelier, Mixologist…. Christmas seemed like and ideal time to do the Mixologist badge, and I looked at the components of the different cocktails before deciding which to try, as I didn’t want to buy a whole load of alcohol that then wouldn’t get used.
