Confectioner - Complete!

When book 2 came out, I had to have a copy - and I waited patiently for my hard back copy to arrive - feeling more than a little envious of all those who had bought the soft back copy, who were able to work on the badges a lot sooner; it felt like such a tease to be reading posts of badge work that I had yet to appreciate. Now, I realise that may seem a little like FOMO, but the difference is that I had (most likely) ordered at the same time as those who had ordered the soft back copy, but because I wanted hard back, I had to wait - and with new books it is usually the case that the hardback edition is released first. Anyway, eventually my copy arrived, and it was a joy. I knew I had to do the Mixologist badge, and it came to my attention that there were one or two other badges I would also work on. I was minded to do Detective, TV Critic, Entertainer - and others. It turned out the first badge was Mixologist, and then I soon started on Confectioner. The first clause I completed ...

How I Came To Use A Different Font

In May we took a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip - I’ve put it in inverted commas, as it is a trip I’ve sort of done twice now - going and doing the parks in Florida. This year we stayed in a Disney Resort - the All Stars Sports Resort, which was fine although basic - I was quite happy with the facilities there, and to be honest, our room there was probably nicer than the room we had at Holiday Inn in Clearwater, although the Clearwater Rooms did have a microwave in them. Anyway, I digress. Our holiday was not without incident; I had hurt my back on the day of the Coronation, and even though it had 2 weeks to heal, it wasn’t feeling much better 4 days before the trip, so I visited a physio (my first time seeing a physio privately, rather than an NHS referral). As I’ve had back problems before, I thought I knew it all - I thought I knew the exercises I needed to do to help my back. This time it seems it was facet joint problems rather than disc related, and likely caused by 10 hours sta...

Rebel Health Check 2023 - June

Before jumping right in to give details of what I’ve done for this badge, you may notice that I’m using a different font! There is quite a big story (in my eyes anyway) as to how this came about, which I might elucidate in another blog post later today, but at the moment it is enough to say that I found  out how to add a variety of different fonts to this blog, and not be restricted to the five that it originally gives me. Rebel Health Check 2023 - I was quite pleased when I saw the details for this badge, as there were several elements that I would find quite easy to work on, especially after returning from a 17 day trip to America. Teeth - I am up to date with my teeth, and had an appointment in June. It was suggested that I could make an appointment with the hygienist for a price of £53 or so - it was mentioned about staining on the back of my teeth, and after speaking to other people who had not had such good experiences with hygienists I’m happy to just keep doing what ...
